Dream Yoga Consciousness and Astral Projection

The concept of astral projection has existed for hundreds, if not thousands of years. It’s closely tied to the idea of a conscious mind that exists separately from our physical mind and body.

Let’s take a look at the history of astral projection, how it relates to the idea of consciousness, and discuss the links between yoga, meditation and astral projection.

The History of Astral Projection

Astral projection is something of a unique phenomenon as it can be found reported throughout human history and across different cultures and civilizations.

One of the earliest accounts of astral projection comes from ancient Egypt, where mystics could reportedly look down on their physical bodies through the eyes of a spirit version of themselves.

There are also reports of astral projection from South American and Amazonian tribes. Shamans could project a spirit body to explore surrounding areas and connect with celestial entities.

Despite being an ancient activity, astral projection is still widely practiced today. In fact, it’s more popular than ever. This could be due to the fact that more and more people are looking to connect with their spiritual side in response to what is an increasingly digital and materialistic world.

Astral Projection and Yoga

To astral project, first, you must reach a state of total inner peace and calm. This can be done through standard meditation, but many people have found that yoga acts as the perfect vehicle through which an astral projection state can be reached.

In fact, astral projection is considered one of the siddhis, which are a set of powers that can be unlocked through mastery of yoga. By harnessing the meditative aspect of yoga, practitioners can achieve the mental state required to astral project and can have out-of-body experiences.

However, don’t look at yoga as a quick-fix way to start astral projecting. Yoga is an incredibly old art form, one that demands respect. At a glance, it might look easy, but it requires incredible dedication and mental strength, as well as physical endurance and flexibility.

Other Benefits of Yoga

Other than astral projection, what benefits does practicing yoga offer? The most obvious benefits are physical; it improves our fitness, our flexibility, and has even been shown to help boost the immune system and reduce inflammation in chronic conditions.

Yoga is fantastic for our physical fitness, but it can also help our mental health as well. Yoga can help our brains produce more dopamine and serotonin, which can in turn help alleviate the symptoms of conditions like depression and anxiety.

Yoga is so powerful, in fact, that researchers have discovered that it can often be as effective as medicine and therapy for treating depression. Given that yoga is free and comes with no side effects, it could prove to be a vital tool in tackling the ongoing mental health crisis.

Conclusion

Yoga and astral projection are intrinsically linked, with the ability to project your inner soul believed to be a direct consequence of a mastery of the art of yoga. Beyond astral projection, yoga can offer an incredible number of benefits for our physical bodies and our emotional state.
