Why am I craving crab

Craving crab is a sensation that many people experience at some point in their lives.

While the cause of cravings is not always known, there are a number of reasons why you may be experiencing this strong desire for crabmeat.

In this article, we will explore the top reasons why you might be craving crab and what to do about it!

Please remember cravings are signals from your body and represent a form of important communication.

For example, when you’re hungry you crave food. Hunger is a signal from your body telling you about something important.

Of course, food cravings can be emotional too. Maybe you anticipate the emotional reward you get from eating certain delicious food.

In these cases, it may seem like you’re craving crab (or chocolate or whatever food), but you’re really after the emotional reward that comes as a result of eating!

Keep on reading to learn more about the emotional and nutritional reasons people crave crab!

1 – Crab makes you feel important

Eating crab is a luxury. The prices of crab meat are more expensive than other meats like turkey or chicken.

This means that when you eat crab, you feel like you are treating yourself to something special.

Can’t you imagine boiled crab, calamari and crawfish drizzled with lemon, with a glass of wine, served at a fancy seafood restaurant?

And what’s more important than feeling special? Crab also has a reputation for being an aphrodisiac.

So if you are looking to boost your ego and confidence, eating crab is a great way to do it!

Here’s another way to think about your crab cravings:

Craving crab can also be a way of showing yourself that you deserve the best.

You work hard and you deserve to treat yourself to something luxurious every now and then.

Eating crab is a great way to show yourself some love!

Whether it’s giving yourself an award with loving intentions, or needing a little ego boost, eating crab can make you feel important.

This is one of the emotional rewards you might really be craving, when you crave for crab.

2 – Seeking out new experiences

Crab is often seen as a food for special occasions.

So if you are craving crab, it may be because you are looking to add some excitement to your life!

Trying new things is a great way to keep life interesting and prevent boredom.

And what could be more exciting than indulging in a luxurious meal that you normally don’t have?

If you’re bored all day, then you’re missing out on an emotional need. The emotional need of fun and playfulness!

Little children are always laughing and having fun because this is an important emotional need.

If you’re bored all day and don’t have much meaning in your life, you might be craving crab. Because in this hypothetical boredom situation, crab gives you the emotional reward of variety, surprise, and newness.

3 – Time to take a break from structure

Many times crab is fancy, but have you ever gone to one of those hole-in-the-wall crab places where you eat with your hands?

This might sound strange, but as a Food Cravings Coach I often hear strange stories about binge eating.

One story I clearly remember was someone who binged on crab after work at one of those restaurants ..

For this person, the whole crab experience, along with some beer, gave them a break from structure.

They would snap the boiled crabs apart, dipping their limbs in butter.

They had to break crab shells with their own fingers, getting crab fragments everywhere.

And they loved the taste and the whole experience.

From breaking to dipping to getting dirty …

Craving crabs meant to them freedom, in a way.

When they got their crab cravings, through journaling and noticing their food patterns, they came to better understand the emotional benefits they were getting from eating crab.

Now they could make sense of their crab cravings!

Yes, the crab had lots of fat from butter and protein. That’s why it had such good taste!

Since this person was restrictively eating, they realized part of their crab cravings were for nutrition.

However, through journaling and working with a Food Cravings Coach, they were able to understand the real reason why they were craving food (and why those cravings wouldn’t go away!).

4 – Craving crab’s nutrients

Crab is a great source of healthy fats, protein and other nutrients. I

If you’re struggling with food cravings, including crab cravings, then you may have a nutrient deficiency.

Remember, cravings are valid signals from your body.

So, in addition to the emotional reason we covered above, you might also crave crab because your body is missing something nutritional.

A great way to find out if you have any nutrient deficiencies is to get a blood test with your doctor.

This will give you a clear picture of what’s going on in your body and which nutrients you might be lacking.

If you are deficient in certain nutrients, then you can focus on eating foods that are rich in those nutrients.

For example, if you’re deficient in iron, then you would want to eat foods like crab that are high in iron.

Of course, crab is also high in protein and fat.

If you are eating a restrictive diet, or simply get too busy at work to eat, then your body might be running on fumes.

If you’re too stressed and busy to eat a satisfying meal, then you could be craving the nutrients from crab too.

Many reasons behind crab cravings

Most likely there is some combination of reasons driving your crab cravings.

It could be emotional, like needing a break from structure or seeking excitement.

Or, it could be nutritional, like your body needing more fat or protein.

And it could also be a combination of both!

If you’re struggling with food cravings, then I recommend journaling to help you better understand your own crab cravings. You can even use the Eating Enlightenment Journal App on either Android or IOS.

What are the circumstances around your crab craving. What emotions are you feeling? What time of day is it?

Answering these questions can help you get to the root cause of your cravings and find satisfying solutions.

Craving crab can have many different causes. It might be because you’re bored and looking for something new and exciting to do.

Or, it could be that you’re craving the nutrients that crab provides.

Whatever the reason behind your crab cravings, journaling can help you get to the bottom of it and find a more satisfying solution.

If you really struggle with cravings in general – cigarettes, food, over-exercising, etc – then working with a Food Cravings Coach can be a great idea.

Generally speaking the same principles about overcoming food cravings apply to other areas of life as well. If you can learn how to manage food cravings, these lessons will apply to other areas of life too – for example, reducing compulsive online shopping or other impulsive behaviors like yelling or binge eating.
